West Ham United fans here in the Tavern are hoping to avoid a third successive defeat in today’s encounter, as they welcome Burnley to the London Stadium later on this afternoon.
David Moyes is rallying his troops for a season-defining clash against Sean Dyche’s Burnley in today’s Premier League fixture, with defeat putting the Hammers in all sorts of bother. Although, there have been some positive developments on the injury front for the London club, as they head into one of the most crucial periods in their Premier League history.
Indeed, Angelo Ogbonna missed the weekend’s loss against Swansea City with an illness, and it’s safe to say they felt lost without his presence after conceding four goals at the Liberty Stadium. But, fitness expert Ben Dinnery has revealed some positive news for West Ham United fans on Twitter.
A decision on James Collins [tight hamstring] will be made in training today. Angelo Ogbonna [illness] is expected to return to the matchday squad. Winston Reid [knee] will miss the remainder of the campaign. Sam Byram [ankle] is also a serious doubt for the season run-in. #WHUFC

This is great news for David Moyes after conceding another four goals in their last Premier League encounter, as the Italian will be welcomed back into the matchday squad with open arms. Indeed, with today’s season-defining match in front of home fans at the London Stadium, the 29-year-old’s presence alone will make for a more positive atmosphere. And, with the prolific Ashley Barnes likely to lead the line for the Clarets, Ogbonna’s return could be crucial if he manages to fit straight back into the defence.
David Moyes will be over the moon to have the Italian back in the matchday squad for today’s all-important encounter, after establishing himself as one of the Hammers’ star players so far this season. Indeed, the return of the central defender will also be massive psychologically for fans, with our local residents now feeling positive after hearing news of the player’s return.
