‘Guess Lloris ain’t fit for Arsenal’, ‘Need to move on from this’ – Tottenham fans on Twitter mixed in reaction to post

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern were relieved to go into the international break on the back of a 1-0 home victory over Crystal Palace at Wembley.

Tottenham Hotspurs victory over Palace on Sunday afternoon was nothing close to as glamorous as their Champions League victory over Real Madrid just a few days earlier, but it was vitally important in their pursuit of the Premier League title, on a day when they looked far from their free-flowing best. Son Heung-Min settled the match in the 64th minute by curling the ball into the bottom corner following a scrappy period of play within the Palace penalty area.

Hugo Lloris picked up a groin injury during the midweek fixture with Madrid, and in his absence, Paulo Gazzaniga stepped in to replace the Tottenham first-choice goalkeeper for his debut at the club.

With Michel Vorm also on the injury table, Gazzaniga made the most of a rare opportunity to impress and he looked a solid unit between the sticks all afternoon.

Tottenham’s official club Twitter page paid tribute to the Italian for his man of the match performance.

Gazzaniga’s impact seems to have made quite the impact on the Tottenham fans who have been quick to praise their new hero.

And if the response from the fans is anything to go by, Michel Vorm will be demoted to third-choice keeper in the coming weeks.

However, not everybody seems totally convinced by Gazzaniga’s credentials just yet.

Here’s what the Spurs faithful had to say about Gazzaniga’s performance on Twitter…
