Oxford United may have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Newcastle United in their fourth-round replay, but it was still a great night for West Ham United youngster Nathan Holland.
The 21-year-old is spending the second half of the campaign on loan at the Kassam Stadium having excelled for the Hammers’ youth team recently, scoring 12 goals in 13 Premier League 2 appearances (Transfermarkt).
And on the evidence of his performance against the Magpies, he has taken his form from youth level with him to Oxford. Indeed, he was an absolute menace on the left-wing, completing five successful dribbles, two successful crosses and playing one key pass during the 120 minutes he played (SofaScore).
Added to that, he also scored a dramatic 94th-minute equaliser for the U’s which took the game into extra time, hitting a brilliant volley from the edge of the area which beat goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
Plenty of West Ham fans were extremely impressed with Holland’s display and particularly his outstanding goal, which could suggest he’s an option for years to come. Many of them took to social media to rave about the 21-year-old’s strike, here is what some had to say…
