Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see what their side does in the summer transfer window as they really do need extra players to come into the squad.
Certainly, after the season just gone and the transfer window last summer, the Hammers simply cannot afford to get things wrong in terms of player recruitment this time around.
Slaven Bilic and his staff, then, have work to do but whilst we wait to see who comes in, we feel there is a real case to argue for the club to sign Fernando Llorente for Swansea.
With Andy Carroll up top and the Hammers at their best when he does play, it is clear to suggest that the men from the London Stadium benefit from having a powerful target man leading the line.
The drawback with Carroll, though, as we all know, is that his fitness often sees him out of action – therefore leaving the Hammers short of attacking options.
What they need, then, is a target man who can play regularly and Fernando Llorente could just be the answer.
Indeed, he’s shown he’s got the talent to play in the Premier League with Swansea this season as when he has been given the service he has usually delivered.
West Ham, though, play to a target man’s strengths more than the Swans and should get even more out of the Spaniard.
Llorente, then, could be an ideal option for the Hammers to have and certainly would represent a decent punt in the summer market.
