Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing their side back in action this weekend as they look for a win at Southampton.
The men from the London Stadium did not get off to the best of starts against Manchester United last weekend with a 4-0 loss getting chalked up and so now the club needs to respond quickly.
For sure, then, Slaven Bilic will be demanding a response from his players and it seems as though the club has been handed a boost with Andy Carroll back in training.
Indeed, the Daily Mail, is reporting that the powerful forward is back amongst the group and now the only hope is that he can remain fit for the rest of the campaign.
That, though, is going to be some ask with his injury record famously poor throughout his career.
Meanwhile, it may also be too early for him to feature in the game at St. Mary’s so now he just needs to get his head down and work on the training pitch.
Andy Carroll, on his day, is unplayable but those days are becoming more and more infrequent and this season could just be make or break for him.
If he can stay fit and play then he could re-launch his career but if things turn sour he might just be getting flogged this time next year.
