Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern really are looking forward to their side signing some players in the summer with the men from the London Stadium certainly needing to.
The Hammers really do need to bring in some extra players, for sure, as their additions for last season simply did not perform as expected.
Slaven Bilic and the owners, then, need to redeem themselves a fair bit in this respect but after England U20’s success in the World Cup many are asking whether playing youth stars could be the way forward.
Indeed, many fans (not just those of West Ham) have got in touch with David Gold on Twitter to bring exactly that point up and so, with that in mind, here’s the best of the discussion on the social media site:

It’s hard 4 a teenager to break into the 1st team and it becomes even harder as the 1st team gets better but there not teenagers 4 ever. dg https://t.co/UfJioinAEV

It’s hard when you keep signing washed up veterans on mega money

Our main objective should be picking the best players for our match day squad, wether they are 17 or 37, if the talent is there, use it.

But, we brought in 3 players last season, who with respect, flopped! Surely the time is now 2 give these young guys playing time/experience?
