West Ham: Fans react as James Collins gives an insight into Mark Noble’s mentality - West Ham

The winter break may have come at just the right time for West Ham given they are without a win in six and therefore need a chance to rest and regroup.

The postponement of their visit to Manchester City also prevented the chance for another defeat – and by a possibly demoralising scoreline given that they were on the receiving end of a 5-0 thumping earlier this season. Indeed, West Ham have been far from their best this season with 24 points from 25 league games, and so far David Moyes has been unable to inject new life into his players.

James Collins told BBC Radio 5 Live that things are far from content in the Hammers’ camp currently, and that means a break could have a positive effect.

Collins said:

“I was speaking to Mark Noble and he was like he’s living under a cloud, just mentally, not even the football. The physical side of it. Just mentally what they are going through every week those West Ham players.”

However, many West Ham supporters haven’t reacted well to Noble’s statement and have shown little sympathy towards their captain, arguing instead that the players haven’t worked hard enough.

What is your opinion on the matter West Ham fans? Do you understand Noble’s struggles or do you expect more from your skipper? Comment below!
