West Ham have been amongst the busiest Premier League teams in terms of spending. The plan is for Manuel Pellegrini to dramatically improve the Hammers and the board have financially backed him to do just that.
Having endured the definition of a rollercoaster season, Manuel Pellegrini has been brought in to steady the ship and take the Hammers to the next level.
A 13th place finish was all Slaven Bilic and David Moyes could muster up in the end but considering the drama West Ham to deal with, that finish could have been a lot worse.
Despite recruiting eight new players this window, the Hammers are still hunting for more and should a left-back be on their radar, Bayern Munich’s Juan Bernat could be the best answer.
The 25-year-old hasn’t quite adapted to life with the German champions due to being second in line to David Alaba, one of the world’s best left-backs.
A bad player doesn’t get signed for Bayern Munich but at this stage in his career, regular football is desirable. Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell are both capable left-backs but each have their downfalls, something Juan Bernat can improve on.
The Spaniard would be a welcome addition for new wingers Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson as well, seeing as Bernat can support them going forward on overlaps but also, should they lose possession, Juan Bernat can resolve the situation.
Do West Ham need a left-back like Bernat… Let us know!
