Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see what the rest of this season brings but, as quoted by Sky Sports, they’re a little alarmed by Michail Antonio’s comments.
The Hammers have been going well in recent weeks and look to have banished their form from the first half of the season which was nothing short of woeful.
The aim now, then, has to be qualifying for the Europa League at the very most though many of our local Hammers punters would be happy with finish in the top ten – very doable indeed.
They’ll go again next season, then, and will hope the likes of Michail Antonio will still be around given he’s arguably been their best player this season.
A new contract would be a start in all that, then, but it appears he hasn’t heard anything about such a prospect right now.
“Right now, nothing is really happening on the contract talks.
“We’ll just see how things go. At the moment my head is not being swayed in any way. I just want to play my football and whatever happens happens.”
Our Hammers fans aren’t sure how to take this. Whilst they’re happy that his head hasn’t been swayed as he said there’s also cause for concern that nothing seems to be budging.
Our landlord reckons they need to sort it quickly, though, as the versatile Englishman will surely have plenty of suitors in the summer.
