Everyone is aware of the current difficulties West Ham are facing and if they manage to overcome this dark time in their history, the summer needs to be time dedicated to signing reinforcements capable of propelling their league position back away from the depths of the division.
Some outsiders tend to find it hard to believe that a starting 11 of West Ham’s quality are facing serious relegation worries but the Hammers in the Transfer Tavern know all too well about the disastrous scenes on the pitch. The only positive right now is that their future is still in their own hands, meaning West Ham could well still be in the top flight next season.
If this does happen and West Ham escape the dreaded relegation, then a player they should target straight away is Marcel Sabitzer, one of RB Leipzig’s talented wingers. The 24-year-old has again enjoyed another successful season in Germany, scoring four times and grabbing an impressive nine assists in 30 appearances so far.
For those who aren’t familiar with the skills of the £16.20 million-rated (according to Transfermarkt) forward, Sabitzer is a tricky player that can be used across the front line or as an attacking midfielder. Either way, the Austrian is a fast, creative player that can see a pass from a mile off.
A player of Sabitzer’s quality would be extremely desirable for West Ham if they want to bless their stadium with good players of their own. Marko Arnautovic will know all about Marcel Sabitzer whilst on national duty together and Hammers could hope ‘Arnie’ could persuade Sabitzer to swap Champions League for West Ham and the Premier League.
