West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are breathing a sigh of relief by the jukebox, as it appears a long-lasting saga is coming to an end.
Sky Sports state the Hammers will complete the signing of Scott Hogan from Brentford this week, having pursued his signature since the transfer window opened in the New Year.
The 24-year-old has scored 14 Championship goals for the Bees this season and was once again absent from the Brentford side who lost to Wigan on Saturday, having also sat out of the loss to Newcastle the week before.
That’s intensified the suggestions that a move to East London is imminent for the forward and West Ham are confident of signing the striker early this week.
Having landed Jose Fonte from Southampton last week, West Ham are fighting back after a slow start to the season and the imminent loss of Dimitri Payet is appearing to be less and less of a blow.
Our landlord believes Hogan will succeed at West Ham, especially as the pressure on the striker has been lifted by Andy Carroll’s return to form.
West Ham fans, what are you expecting from Hogan this season? Let us know in the comments below!
