West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with the club’s business in the transfer window thus far and are hoping it continues.

Manuel Pellegrini has made three additions to his squad with his summer revamp in full flow. Ryan Fredericks arrived on a free transfer from Fulham as well as Lukasz Fabianski from Swansea for around £7m. The Hammers also completed a £22.5m deal for the highly-coveted centre-back, Issa Diop. Former Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere, is expected to sign for the club in the coming days.

Our regulars are over the moon with their signings so far but are stunned with the latest developments coming from France. Reportedly, their former star, Dimitri Payet, has been offered the chance to return to the club. The Frenchman left for former club Marseille in January 2017 following a string of stunning performances.

Valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt, Payet remains a polarising figure at the London Stadium. The manner of his departure has left a bitter taste in the mouths of many of the West Ham faithful. On the other hand, it’s difficult to forget his excellent performances at the club which saw him shortlisted for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award in 2016.

According to reports, the player himself is keen to return to his former club which will no doubt improve relations with some of the fans who don’t want him to return. With Manuel Lanzini sidelined for six months, Payet would be the perfect replacement to add creativity to the West Ham attack.

Their supporters must forget the past and welcome their former hero back with open arms.

West Ham fans, do you want Payet back at the club?
