Manuel Pellegrini should find a spot for Jack Wilshere in his starting lineup for Saturday's important trip to St James's Park after the former Arsenal man successfully recovered from an ankle injury.

The West Ham United manager confirmed, via the club's website, that Wilshere and Andy Carroll are both available for selection after lengthy spells on the sideline although Carroll got some time on the pitch against Manchester City last weekend.

But it is the availability of Wilshere that should be utilised by the Chilean in order for the Hammers to put in a good showing against the high flying Magpies.

Three wins from three have seen Rafa Benitez's men turn their season around and will the experience of someone like Wilshere in the midfield be highly important.

The England international's creativity and eagerness to move forward in attack could only benefit West Ham as they are expected to be put under a bit of pressure at the back by Newcastle.

Michail Antonio was a bit too static against City, which is probably understandable, while the club's clash with Huddersfield before the international break saw Robert Snodgrass and Pedro Obiang fail to really create any trouble for the Terriers' defenders, despite having quite a lot of possession.

With Marko Arnautovic also declared fit for the trip to the North East, starting Wilshere behind him could spark a linkup that failed to get going at the beginning of the season.

The striker limped off against the Citizens last weekend with a hip problem but his availability is also a massive boost, given his well-known goal scoring capabilities.

If Wilshere does start then Pellegrini might fancy another change in formation as he has constantly been looking for the right partnerships since the start of the season, but a direct swap with Antonio might not be a bad change.

Antonio didn't do much wrong against City, but the ability of Wilshere to create space and find support players in gaps could prove pivotal on Saturday.
