West Ham United are looking to make a number of huge signings this summer, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited with who the club is targeting now.
New manager Manuel Pellegrini is looking at bringing in a number of additions as he looks to try and overhaul the Hammers squad and take them to a top-half finish in the Premier League, and potentially a place within European football next year, with the Chilean rumoured to be interested in a Barcelona star.
And, according to a report in Sport, the Irons flew out to the Catalan giants to ask about the availability of Rafinha, what with the 25-year-old having impressed during his loan spell at Inter Milan, although they may have to wait on what the Serie A outfit want to do.
The midfielder is thought to be keen on staying in Italy and is not in a rush to make a decision about his future, although the Hammers will hope that Pellegrini can convince him to join them in the Premier League.
And were he to do that, it would be a huge statement of intent from the East London club ahead of the new Premier League season.
Landlord’s Verdict: The locals in the Tavern will be delighted that the club are looking at targets that they would not have been linked with in the past, and will be looking for Pellegrini to use his name as pulling power as his overhaul seeks to gather pace.
Rafinha would certainly be a solid addition to the side and the Brazilian would go straight into the middle of the field at the London Stadium, at the same time adding a vast amount of quality to the Hammers side.
