Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern already have their minds on the end of the season, though they’re hoping their players do not.
Such has been the season for West Ham they now have very little to play for.
They’re not going down and they’re hugely unlikely to qualify for Europe so it really is a case of just finishing and finishing well.
Of course, many believe they’d have had more to play for at this stage had their summer window gone well last year with the remnants of it still underwhelming.
Indeed, whilst the likes of Simone Zaza have cleared off, you’ve got your Jonathan Calleri’s still failing to make an impression.
Surely, then, the Hammers will want to have a better time of things ahead of 2017/18 whilst, as quoted by Ole (via Sport Witness,) Calleri has certainly revealed his desire to be off as soon as possible.
“I’d like to return to Boca tomorrow.
“Since I arrived there, everything was very intense, but always a beautiful pressure. Boca was the top of my career.”
Hardly comments that scream he’s in it for the long haul in this country, then, and our local Hammers punters think it is probably best he went now.
