It’s a big night for the West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern tomorrow as Brighton come to visit the London Stadium. Indeed, it’s barely been a vintage start to the campaign for the Hammers who prop up our bar, and they are fully expecting a win against their visitors tomorrow.
If Slaven Bilic cannot lead his side to victory at home against the Seagulls, the tide really would turn on the Croatian, as popular a man as he is over in east London. With that in mind, an injury update from Claret & Hugh has scared the Irons in the Tavern today.
According to their report, Javier Hernandez pulled up in training with a slight injury at Rush Green and was immediately rushed to hospital for a scan. Exactly what the problem was isn’t detailed, though the Mexican is not thought to have returned to training with the first-team after shooting off.
With Andy Carroll now suspended, missing Hernandez for Brighton would be a nightmare at the London Stadium, with Bilic in desperate need of a win.
A complete nightmare for Bilic if he’s out, though perhaps Diafra Sakho could capitalise. The Senegalese forward has been in good form of late and may have a point to prove, if he’s the only option to lead the attack on Friday night.
