Redknapp offers West Ham advice as season threatens to fall apart

Speaking to The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Talksport, Harry Redknapp has said something all our Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern agree with – Andy Carroll must start playing.

The powerful forward has just recovered from his latest injury bout and game off of the bench last weekend in the game against Arsenal.

He marked his return with a goal, too, but it was not enough to save the Hammers who were battered 5-1 by the Gunners.

Seeing Carroll back, though, had to have been the silver lining from that game as he is so often the one that grabs the goals for the club – something they have missed a lot this season.

Indeed, the Hammers are now well in a relegation scrap thanks to their lack of ability in front of goal this year and Redknapp feels they have to play the former Newcastle man now to get up the table.

The former Spurs manager said:

“I think he [Slaven Bilic] needs to get Carroll back in the team and go a little bit route one. He’s a threat. I think they’ll be okay. I don’t see them getting relegated this year.”

West Ham travel to Liverpool this weekend as they search desperately for three points but our landlord can’t see them getting anything from the game.
