West Ham United are prepared to step up their chase for a world-class attacker and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted if they can pull off a coup of this magnitude.
New manager Manuel Pellegrini is expected to make a number of additions to his squad this summer following his arrival and the locals will be watching the developments with anticipation and, according to reports in Italy, they could see a man join them at the London Stadium in the near future.
And that’s because Tutto Mercato Web are reporting that the Hammers have offered Javier Pastore a huge contract to try and tempt him to join them in East London, what with his future at French giants Paris Saint-Germain in doubt.
It is believed that the club have offered him a salary of €8.5 million per year for three years, which equates to a weekly wage of £143,000-a-week, and as such would be a huge statement of intent from the Hammers were they able to seal a deal for the South America superstar.
Landlord’s Verdict: The locals in the Tavern will recognise a player of Pastore’s ability would be a coup for the side, and will hope that Pellegrini can convince the Argentina international to join them at the London Stadium.
The player would be taking a step back in his career, following the exploits he has already enjoyed, and it is believed the Hammers will have to offer him a huge salary to convince him to get on board.
