West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited for life to begin under Manuel Pellegrini and will be looking forward to seeing who he brings to the club in the summer.
The Chilean was confirmed the new Hammers boss last week when he took over from David Moyes and has already set his sights on ambitious transfer targets, according to reports.
And that’s because The Daily Mail are claiming that the Irons are already in talks with Lazio over a deal worth over £35 million for Felipe Anderson. The Brazilian is believed to be eager to play under Pellegrini, and is considered to have been one of the best players in the Serie A over the last few years.
The 25-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the past, yet the fact that West Ham are being active in their efforts to bring him to the London Stadium this summer shows that they mean business this year.
Landlord’s Verdict: Should West Ham manage to pull off a deal of this magnitude, it will surely be deemed a coup and one of the signings of the season should Anderson enjoy success.
The locals in the Tavern will be excited with what Pellegrini is already doing, and if he can convince another couple of hugely talented players to join him in London, then the Hammers could be in for a very good campaign.
