Report: Pellegrini to raid former club for wonderkid as West Ham rebuild continues

West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking forward to seeing who the club brings in this summer as they look to make an impact on this season’s Premier League campaign.

The Hammers have shown their intentions already with the signing of Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager, and they will be hoping that he can bring a number of players to the side to help them with their aims of achieving European football.

The Premier League winner is keen to add a number of additions to his new side this summer, and it looks as though he is ready to raid one of his former clubs to make a deal happen.

And that’s because The Irish Sun are claiming that Manchester City wonderkid Brahim Diaz is on Pellegrini’s list, with the Chilean reportedly looking to bring him to the London Stadium on a season-long loan deal.

The 18-year-old has been regarded as a player with a bright future and City boss Pep Guardiola is believed to be a huge fan of the youngster.

Diaz is seen as an ideal replacement for Manuel Lanzini this summer, as the Argentina international is thought to be out for between six and 12 months after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury whilst training for the World Cup.

Landlord’s Verdict: It would be considered a good deal if Pellegrini can bring Diaz to West Ham this summer, as he would prove to be inexpensive and would be offered the first team football that Manchester City wants him to receive.

The history between the two individuals could also go in the Hammers favour, with the duo both at Malaga in the past, and the locals in the Tavern would be delighted if the Chilean can convince him to join them.
