The West Ham fans within the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that their team have now just about done enough to remain in the Premier League next season.
It hasn’t been pretty and it still remains that way with the most loyal of fans starting to turn on both the West Ham board and manager David Moyes, after both promised many things they couldn’t live up to. Although West Ham still remain in the relegation dogfight, the “attacking football” that Moyes insisted he would bring to the London Stadium has disappeared and fans are far from pleased at that, they want to see their side play ” the West Ham way.”
In spite of this, Hammers around the bar are hoping to see managerial change, as well as an influx of new players. Our punters have been looking at the free agents available, knowing full well that the board aren’t prepared to spend big-money very often. However, West Ham might find a clever way around this with the purchase of Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah, who is valued at £11.25 million on Transfermarkt.
The 29-year-old is available on a free transfer from this summer and the Irons, who are in need of squad additions would profit nicely from the acquisition of a tidy left-sided player. Although he is far from a regular at Juventus, Asamoah has played in 24 games so far this season. With Aaron Cresswell still adapting to his newly-found centre-back role, that leaves just Arthur Masuaku and the departing Patrice Evra as cover for left-back.
With the ability to play well in both left-back and let-midfield, two positions West Ham need, Kwadwo Asamoah could prove to be an inspired free signing should the West Ham owners continue to spend little money.
