Signing Djibril Sidibe would be one hell of a statement from West Ham

West Ham are looking up rather than down after winning three successive games in the Premier League.

Manuel Pellegrini’s promise to fans of being in the top ten by Christmas looks to be a believable statement right now with the Hammers in top form.

Their very best attacking displays have been on show for all to see but defensively, there is still room for improvement.

A right-back is set to be targeted by the club sooner rather than later with Pablo Zabaleta likely to leave at the end of the season and Ryan Fredericks is currently injured.

In what would be a massive statement, West Ham should look to sign Monaco right-back and World Cup winner Djibril Sidibe.

Sidibe, who is valued at £16.2 million on Transfermarkt, is a right-back who has continually, in the past been linked, with a move to a big European club.

Currently playing his football with Monaco, the French defender would be a pricey option for West Ham but definitely a brilliant one sure to be worth the money.

The 26-year-old has played 12 games this season with his struggling Monaco side and a new, exciting challenge to move to the Premier League may be an opportunity Sidibe wishes to take.

West Ham would surely have to fend off interest from many top clubs and it would be a hard task persuading him to join but whatever the fee, they would know that Sidibe can be their right-back for the foreseeable future.

The Hammers have got the money, a big stadium and lofty ambitions to reach the next level – Djibril Sidibe can be a big help to West Ham in helping to achieve that.
