West Ham United have spent big so far this summer, but David Sullivan will hope this isn’t at the cost of youth talents prospering at the London Stadium.
The Irons have shown major ambition in the transfer market so far in this window. Last season wasn’t the first season in the London Stadium that fans of the East London outfit would have hoped for, but they can afford to be a little optimistic ahead of this season.
Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop, Lukasz Fabianski, Fabian Balbuena, Jack Wilshere and Ryan Fredericks have all signed at the London Stadium. Exciting times may lay ahead in East London, the squad seems to have a much better balance than in previous seasons. On paper, all of the signings they have made should be extremely capable Premier League players.
However, with all of the new imports, whether youth will get a chance is questionable. West Ham have historically been good producers of talent, and David Sullivan will be hoping the Irons do not lose this reputation now they are spending money. If Manuel Pellegrini can marry the new signings with giving his young talent game time, he can consider himself to have done a good job.
With that in mind here are two players who deserve to be given a chance in the first team next season…
