West Ham supporters in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating their team’s trip to Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday, as the East London outfit seek back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.
David Moyes’ men got back to winning ways in their preceding league encounter courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Watford at the London Stadium, with goals from Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic securing the three points which moved the Hammers up to 12th in the Premier League table, and four points clear of danger. Yet they are likely to have their work cut out at Anfield on Saturday against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, who go into the match fresh from putting five past Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Nonetheless, there are some optimistic Hammers in the Tavern, and they are all likely to be intrigued by a recent report from The Daily Telegraph, which suggests that a summer move could be in the offing for versatile youngster Reece Oxford.

The 19-year-old has come up through the ranks at the East London outfit but has struggled for regular football in the last few years, earning just 19 senior appearances for the Hammers, and needing to go out on loan to first Reading and now Borussia Monchengladbach to get regular minutes.
And he did indeed get a start for the Bundesliga outfit in their most recent encounter, and reports suggest that Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid are interested in a possible summer move for Oxford in a bid to see the young defender reach his full potential.
And with first team chances likely to be hard to come by at West Ham, a summer move could well be in the offing for the England youth international.
Landlord’s verdict: Reece Oxford was recalled from his loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach during January to allow West Ham boss David Moyes to have a look at the 19-year-old, only to be allowed back to the German side on loan for the rest of the season.
However, he hasn’t earned loads of starts at the Bundesliga outfit this term although did play 90 minutes at right-back against Borussia Dortmund last time out, yet it appears that he has attracted some interest, not least from Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
They are reportedly considering a summer move for the West Ham starlet, and with the immediate future not looking overly promising in East London, it’s a move which could well take place in the close season.
