The Sunderland fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that the club are favourites to sign a new forward player.
According to reports in the Sunderland Echo the North East side are set to beat off competition to land West Ham striker Diafara Sakho this summer.
Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion and Watford were all reportedly interested in taking the striker to their respective clubs but it appears that the Black Cats is the player’s choice for the next step in his career.
The Senegalese is eager to leave East London this summer and put a transfer request in to the club last week as he looks to force a move away from the Hammers.
Sam Allardyce, now in charge on Wearside of course, originally brought the 26-year old to England from Metz in 2014 now looks set for a reunion in the North East, as he bids to bolster the Black Cats’ ranks.
Would Sakho improve Sunderland?
