As happy as the West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern are about their recent run of results, even without a certain Dimitri Payet, there’s little doubt it remains a rather strange season at the London Stadium.
Amid problems on and off the pitch, the Hammers have confused some of our east London locals propping up the bar in their transfer policy. With the aforementioned Frenchman strongly linked with a move to Marseille, the Irons have been linked with a move for Hull City’s Scotland international Robert Snodgrass.
While the 29-year-old midfielder has proved to be the star man at the KCOM Stadium so far this season, he’s not the most illustrious name to (presumably) replace Payet. Perhaps that’s a good thing, considering the disappointing nature of their summer recruits, though it’s far to say the Scotland star has divided opinion on social media.
With that in mind, here’s how Twitter reacted as West Ham close on Snodgrass.
Lots of people criticising the fans that are moaning about Snodgrass, sorry for having ambition and wanting the club to sign decent players.

Not sure what to think about Snodgrass at 10m, surely spells the end for Feghouli #whufc

The good thing about signing Snodgrass if it happens is that he won't come back from a major international finals injured or sulking #whufc

Excellent move by Hull to remove the stress of a relegation battle by selling Snodgrass and giving up in January.

Don't understand Snodgrass hate. Surely if he wants to actually sign for us he's chosen us over Burnley and that's a really positive thing.
