Top flight new boys ready to hijack Watford and West Ham chase for Juventus ace

West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured a frustrating transfer window with targets Alexandre Lacazette and Carlos Bacca seemingly escaping the clutches of Slavan Bilic so far.

Now Gianluca Di Marzio reports today that they, along with Watford, may be set to miss out on Juventus midfielder Mauricio Isla, as reports in Italy suggest that he is on his way to newly promoted Serie A side Cagliari.

Cagliari have just returned to the Italian top flight after a year long absence, and are looking to strengthen their squad to consolidate their place in the top flight.

The Hornets in particular will be as disappointed as any as reports suggest new manager Walter Mazzarri was keen to work with Isla once more, who enjoyed their time together as manager of Napoli.
Having previously spent time on loan with Queens Park Rangers, the 28-year old has previous in English football, though looks unlikely to make a return.
