It’s been a hectic summer and here at the Transfer Tavern we’ve seen plenty of head-to-head transfer battles and this time, it’s Sunderland and West Ham squaring up to one another!
Premier League sides West Ham and Sunderland are set to go head to head in the race to sign Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, according to German outlet Bild.
The Bosnian international is attracting interest as he only has one year left on his current deal with the Bundesliga giants.
Their signing of Baba Rahman on-loan suggests Kolasinac may not be needed as a first-choice option this season and he is thought to be considering a move as the new season comes ever closer.
The defender made 28 appearances for Schalke last season as they finished fifth in the Bundesliga but despite a strong showing, his team are still prepared to listen to offers for the 23-year-old.
New Black Cats manager David Moyes is keen to add to his squad after joining the club earlier this summer, whilst the Hammers are said to be looking to strengthen with a hectic schedule ahead due to Europa League commitments.
West Ham and Sunderland fans, does Kolasinac sound like a man who could do a job at your club this summer? Let us know your thoughts below!
