West Ham: Club interested in Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita - West Ham

West Ham United are showing an interest in Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, that is according to a report from Spanish news outlet AS.

They are not the only club tracking the shot-stopper however, with Manchester City having already made an approach for his services according to the report.

Guaita has been a regular for Palace this season, starting 16 of their 18 Premier League matches to date (Transfermarkt).

He has been impressive too, indeed he has kept six clean sheets which is only fewer than Dean Henderson, Nick Pope and Kasper Schmeichel (premierleague.com).

It seems that his strong displays have caught the eye, with two of Palace’s Premier League rivals now reportedly chasing his signature.

According to the report, both City and West Ham would be looking at signing the Argentine in the summer rather than in January.

Signing Guaita would definitely be a positive for West Ham, given that he has performed so well in the Premier League this term.

The Hammers are likely to be in the market for a new goalkeeper in the summer, as they are thought to be keen to get rid of Roberto who has been a flop this season.

Indeed he has shipped 14 goals in just six starts in the Premier League this term (Transfermarkt) and has a save percentage of just 69% (SofaScore).

His woeful displays subsequently led to him being dropped in favour of third choice David Martin with Lukasz Fabianski out injured.

If West Ham could do a deal to bring Guaita in it would almost certainly mean the end of the road for Roberto, who could be looking for yet another new club in the summer.
