West Ham have turned their fortunes around in recent weeks and the confidence around the London Stadium is sky-high.
Manuel Pellegrini is a top manager and that has never been doubted but after a barren run of four consecutive losses, West Ham began to think that despite shelling out £100 million, still nothing had changed.
Yet great performances have since taken place and the Hammers look a completely different proposition for anyone taking them on.
Still with injuries causing problems for West Ham like they seem to do every season, they need to sign a defensive midfielder in January and young Ibrahim Sangare should be at the top of their list.
Sangare, (who is valued at £6.7 million on Transfermarkt) is a powerful defensive midfielder that has played every single minute in Ligue 1 so far for Toulouse, importantly providing a goal and an assist during that time.
West Ham had recruited Carlos Sanchez in the summer as back-up for their midfield but after suffering a long-term injury against Macclesfield, the Hammers need to be sensible in bringing in someone else in case that injury curse strikes again.
And what a way to do it if they signed Ibrahim Sangare. The 20-year-old is highly rated and would be a great coup should West Ham pull off a deal to sign him. Indeed, former teammate Issa Diop is certainly working out for the Hammers thus far.
As a defensive-minded midfielder, he would provide cover to West Ham’s backline and has a strong running style that allows him to cover the pitch well.
With an eye for creativity as well, there really is no reason as to why the Hammers shouldn’t pursue a deal to sign the Toulouse midfielder.
