The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern know that their team are just a few points away from safety in the Premier League and then they can look forward to another crazy transfer window that is fast approaching.
West Ham are largely in the relegation battle they currently are because of previous poor transfer windows but if they manage to avoid the drop this summer, the board are more than aware that nothing less than quality singings will please the Hammers.
The London Stadium outfit could do with a lot of new faces in a variety of different positions but our punters are keen to finally see a player come in who can fill the boots of Dimitri Payet. The player suggested is Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes, who is valued at £18.00 million on Transfermarkt.
West Ham know that it wouldn’t be an easy task to get someone of Fernandes’ quality but if they did, he could well be the difference between another relegation battle and prosperity in the league single-handedly.
At just 23-years-old, this season the Portuguese has played in 51 games in all competitions, scoring a staggering 14 goals and assisting 20 goals. To say it would be an achievement to sign him would well be an understatement as this man has the potential to be a top quality player in a few years time.
With the big European teams already circulating around him, West Ham can’t afford to mess around with price and must go straight in with an offer Sporting Lisbon can’t refuse.
With this signing alone, it could turn many miserable West Ham fans into believers, that their dream of Europe might not be a myth after all.
Thoughts? Could West Ham pull off such an audacious signing?
