For the West Ham United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern, the atmosphere at the London Stadium during the Hammers’ 3-0 thumping of Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace on Saturday was the best since they moved.
The east London locals in the Tavern simply couldn’t believe things clicked into gear so well after the Dimitri Payet saga reared its ugly head, with the masterful Frenchman going from hero to zero in claret and blue.
Despite feeling low upon Slaven Bilic’ revealing of the 29-year-old’s refusal to play for the Irons, the performance against the Eagles was wonderful for our drinkers to watch and they were delighted to see Sofiane Feghouli score.
The Algerian hasn’t always convinced since joining the club in the summer, though according to Italian outlet Il Messaggero, he could stick around in the long run. He has been linked with a move to Roma just six months after joining from Valencia, though the Payet saga has reportedly cast doubt on any move.
For their part, I Giallorossi are thought to have considered a move for Tottenham ace Georges N’koudou and reported to have established contact with the 24-year-old over a potential move to the Italian capital.
Though the report doesn’t elaborate on what type of contact, our north London locals are hopeful their summer signing doesn’t leave already.
Should Spurs sell N’koudou? Let us know below…
