A post from a fan page on Twitter has got West Ham fans debating over four players, but one man seems to stand out to many of the fanbase as the favourite.
West Ham Fan Zone asked the Hammers faithful to pick a player out of Dean Ashton, Andy Carroll, Jack Wilshere, and Winston Reid. What was key was the fact that the player they pick would stay injury free. All four have had horrible injury troubles during their respective spells with the East London side, missing a total of 414 matches between them, per Transfermarkt.
It seems like Dean Ashton is the player that the majority of the fanbase wish they could have seen more as he was the main name picked. The centre-forward played 56 times for the club, scoring 19 goals and even got called up to the England squad for his performances, per Transfermarkt, but it was in his international debut where he suffered a horrible injury that he couldn’t recover from.
It ended up being his only appearance for the Three Lions and he eventually had to retire at the age of just 26, per The Guardian, because of his struggles.
Here is what fans had to say following the tweet:
One of these players stays injury free, but you're only allowed one.
