No matter what happens to West Ham this summer, the main priority for the club is to sign a new starting striker.

With Andy Carroll leaving and Lucas Perez, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez likely to follow suit, Manuel Pellegrini has the task of rebuilding the entire West Ham attack this transfer window, but with the club likely to make bank on their strikers this summer, options are aplenty for the Hammers boss.

Plenty of names have already been tossed around with a move to east London from Maxi Gomez to Aleksandar Mitrovic, but another name has emerged that could solve West Ham’s striker problem as soon as he arrives.

According to CalcioMercato, West Ham are interested in the services of Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata, who has been in sensational form this season, hitting 22 goals and seven assists in 35 appearances for the club as they aim to return to the Champions League for the first time in their history.

Zapata, who is on-loan from Sampdoria after joining the Genoa-based club for a reported £15.3 million from Napoli, has attracted interest from all over the continent after his incredible season with Atalanta, and the Hammers should be going all in for the Colombian.

At 28, the striker is hitting the peak years of his career and is only going to get better after such an incredible campaign with one of the most impressive sides in Italy this season, and if the Hammers are able to sell on their attackers, Zapata will be an affordable option for Pellegrini.

West Ham fans, will Zapata be a good signing this summer? Let us know!
