Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be happy with mid-table this season now and, according to The Sun, next year promises to be more exciting.
Of course, here by the bar many felt that this year would be a good one for the club with European football and a new stadium but that is certainly not how things have panned out.
Instead, the club have had relegation worries for the duration of the season and so, going into next year, they’ll be keen to avoid a repeat.
Better signings in the summer window than the ones made last time around are going to be key to that and it certainly appears the club are planning on doing just that.
The report is claiming that the Hammers will look to sign Joe Hart from Manchester City ahead of 2017/18 in a deal that would certainly make a statement to the rest of the division.
Hart has been on loan at Torino this year after having it made clear to him he would not be a part of Pep Guardiola’s plans and so it remains to be seen just where his future lies past this season.
