Footage has emerged on social media of West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski taking part in some training exercises.

Journalist Sam Inkersole posted a clip, which was taken from Hammers striker Albian Ajeti’s Instagram account, showing the Polish goalkeeper taking part in a catching drill.

Ajeti captioned the clip with “soon soon… @lukasz.fabianski” and it has got several West Ham fans excited that their number one shot-stopper could be closing in on a return to action.

He has missed their last six Premier League outings after picking up a hip injury against Bournemouth (Transfermarkt) and it would be fair to say that they have missed him.

Indeed, since he has been out, they have lost five out of six matches and his replacement Roberto has conceded 14 goals in six starts (Transfermarkt).

After seeing the footage of Fabianski back in training, most fans were left delighted. Some have even called for him to start against Chelsea at the weekend.

Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
