West Ham: Fans don’t want club to sign Asmir Begovic in January - West Ham

West Ham United are interested in signing Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in the January transfer window, that is according to The Sun

The Cherries shot-stopper is out of favour at Dean Court. He has fallen behind both Aaron Ramsdale and Artur Boruc in the pecking order which has meant that the Bosnian has ended up spending the first half of this season on loan at Azerbaijani club Qarabag.

However, his temporary deal with the club expires on December 31st (Transfermarkt) and he is thought to be keen to find another outfit in January, whether it is on loan or on a permanent deal.

West Ham could be a potential destination for the 32-year-old, who are thought to be looking for a back-up option to Lukasz Fabianski.

Their current number two Roberto has been awful this season and, in the six games he has played, he has conceded 14 goals (Transfermarkt).

Reports suggest he could be moved out in January (The Guardian), which would create space in the squad for the Hammers to bring in another goalkeeper.

But it seems as though several West Ham fans wouldn’t want to see Begovic fill that gap, with many suggesting that the ex-Chelsea stopper is past his best.

Indeed, he really struggled last season whilst at Bournemouth and made the joint-most amount of errors leading to goals along with Bernd Leno (premierleague.com).
