West Ham: Fans not happy with Darren Randolph transfer link - West Ham

West Ham United are considering trying to re-sign former goalkeeper Darren Randolph in the January transfer window after the horrific form of Roberto. (

The Republic of Ireland international previously played 42 games for the Hammers (Transfermarkt) between 2015-2017.

Should West Ham sign Asmir Begovic?

He has since been plying his trade at Middlesbrough in the Championship, but according to the report, the east London side are trying to negotiate a deal for him to return to the club.

The 32-year-old would probably go in as number two behind Lukasz Fabianski if he did make the move and replace Roberto Jimenez in the squad.

Roberto was given the opportunity to impress recently with Fabianski out injured, but he didn’t take that chance. He conceded 14 goals in just six starts for the Hammers (Transfermarkt) and has even been described as the “worst keeper” that pundit Tony Cascarino has ever seen (The Times).

According to The Guardian, West Ham will look to offload the Spaniard in January, which would create space in their squad for another goalkeeper. That other goalkeeper could well be Randolph if the reports linking him with a return are true.

However, it seems as though several fans wouldn’t be too happy if this was indeed the club’s plan to replace Roberto. Some suggest that they do not need to bring in a goalkeeper as David Martin is an able deputy, whilst others suggest that signing Randolph would be a step backwards…

West Ham fans, would you take Darren Randolph back at the club in January? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
