Carlo Ancelotti is now available for hire after being sacked by Serie A club Napoli on Tuesday evening.
The Italian was let go by Gli Azzurri despite securing a 4-0 win against Genk in the Champions League just hours before, a result which sealed their place in the knockout stages (BBC Sport).
He will now be looking for a fresh challenge, with Sky Sports suggesting that he is firmly on the radar of both Everton and Arsenal, who are currently without managers.
Another Premier League club who could soon be looking for a new boss is West Ham, with Manuel Pellegrini thought to be under pressure at the London Stadium (The Guardian) following a run of seven league defeats in nine (Transfermarkt).
Club insider @ExWHUemployee suggested that if they do sack the Chilean, Ancelotti would be a great appointment for the club.
It would certainly be a high profile one, given that the Italian has won titles in Italy, England, France and Germany as well as three Champions League trophies (Transfermarkt).
However, quite surprisingly, several West Ham fans have said that they would not want to see the 60-year-old as their next manager.
Here is what some had to say on Twitter…

Would be a terrible appointment IMO, Bayern players complained training was too soft under him, exactly what West Ham don’t need

He basically is Pellegrini. Similar in style and manner. Would be an awful appointment.

Nah, not interested. Would rather Howe or Dyche

He got sacked because they are playing like us..1 win in ten!!! After spending £ms in the summer. Sorry but we need to wake up and start looking at managers who are not 65+ who won this and that . We are a final pay out service.. Get a young healthy angry guy in.

Nah. Another stubborn dinosaur imo. Shows no passion atall. It’s got to be moyes or gerrard for me. Moyes for security and gerrard for fresh/young meat

MP all over again if we got him. Young and hungry manager who ain’t one dimensional is what we need

Another over the hill manager who’s seen better days, no thanks.
