West Ham United moved even closer to the relegation zone on Wednesday as they suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

The result means that the Hammers are now above the bottom three by just a single goal (BBC Sport), so the threat of relegation is now very real for David Moyes' side.

There were few positives to come from the defeat against the league leaders, but several fans did come away happy with the performance of youngster Jeremy Ngakia.

The 19-year-old was making his first-team debut for West Ham, replacing Pablo Zabaleta in the right-wing back position, and he may just have cemented the spot for their next game against Brighton.

Indeed, playing in the top flight for the first time, the young Englishman did fairly well, winning 66.7% of his ground duels and making two successful tackles. Added to that he wasn't dribbled past at all during the game (SofaScore).

His display certainly caught the eye of plenty of West Ham fans, many of whom took to Twitter to heap praise on him after the game. Here is what some had to say...
