West Ham: Fans react as Sam Allardyce discusses transfers during his time as Hammers manager - West Ham

Former West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that whilst he was in charge there were times when players were bought by owner David Sullivan without his approval.

Whilst as a guest on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT, Allardyce admitted that sometimes players were signed without him knowing anything about it until they turned up to pre-season training. He also went on to say that if the player failed to perform, Sullivan would blame the manager and his coaching techniques for not getting the best out of them rather than admitting that he had signed a dud.

It is certainly an interesting insight of what happens behind the scenes at the Hammers from Allardyce, who managed 181 games at the club between 2011-2015 (Transfermarkt) and guided them to promotion from the Championship via the play-offs in 2012 (BBC Sport).

The West Ham owners have come under fire from supporters recently and some fans even protested against their ownership ahead of a recent Premier League match against Everton (talkSPORT). And it seems that Allardyce’s comments have poured more fuel onto the fire, with loads of Hammers fans absolutely fuming following his transfer revelation.

Many have taken to Twitter to react to their former manager’s comments, here is what some had to say…
