Many West Ham fans have taken to Twitter following an official club tweet commending Declan Rice’s Euro 2020 heroics with England as he played a key role in their run to the final of the competition [The Guardian].

Enjoying a fantastic 2020/21 season, the Hammers midfielder was a key player for his club, registering three goal contributions in 35 appearances with two goals and one assist [Transfermarkt].

He has now excelled on the major international stage with the Three Lions, recording an impressive 91% passing accuracy across seven matches at the Euros [UEFA.com].

Despite England losing in the final to Italy on penalties [BBC], the 22-year-old has earned the acclaim of his club after posting an emotional message following the defeat. The Irons' official Twitter account replied “Just the start”, accompanied by heart and handclap emojis.
