West Ham: Fans react to clubs tweet following Premier League suspension

West Ham: Fans react to clubs tweet following Premier League suspension - West Ham

A lot of West Ham fans are finding a positive after the club released a statement saying they will not be playing this weekend and that they will be in self-isolation after recent events. Arsenal, who the Hammers played last in the Premier League, are taking the same actions.

The postponement means West Ham will remain unbeaten this weekend, something which has cheered up some fans.

West Ham currently sit 16th in the Premier League and are on 27 points, which is the same amount as AFC Bournemouth and Watford who are in the two positions below the Hammers (BBC Sport). They are also only two points off Aston Villa who are in 19th. The season has looked bleak for fans, and if you look at only the last eleven results, the club would sit 19th in the League, winning two, drawing two and losing seven (Transfermarkt).

The task for David Moyes is a big one, and even though Premier League survival will be a good achievement this season, the fans want to see some ambition and will hope for a top ten finish next season.

Whilst the COVID-19 pandemic is incredibly serious, these Hammers fans have tried to remain positive despite it having caused English football to stop until early April (BBC Sport). Here is what some had to say in response to the club’s tweet confirming some players will be self-isolating now that this weekends game is off…

West Ham fans, are you happy that Moyes is the manager? Comment below!
