West Ham: Fans react to Daniel Sturridge suggestion

West Ham: Fans react to Daniel Sturridge suggestion - West Ham

A lot of West Ham fans are disagreeing with an article from Football.London which writes about how former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could be the answer to the club’s problems up front.

Sturridge is currently a free agent at the age of 30 after being released by Trabzonspor (Independent), but after making his move from Chelsea to Liverpool, the former England striker had his best period and scored 68 goals in 160 appearances (Transfermarkt).

The 2013/14 season was his best, where he scored 25 goals in all competitions as Liverpool narrowly missed out on the Premier League title.

Sturridge clearly has shown he knows where the net is, which is something West Ham have struggled with as they have only scored 35 goals this campaign, whilst their top scorer Sebastien Haller has only bagged seven goals so far, per Football.London.

That said, it could be argued that his best years are behind him given he has only netted 14 times in all competitions in the last three seasons (Transfermarkt).

Added to that, he also missed 99 games for Liverpool due to injuries (Transfermarkt), which has left fans comparing him with former Iron Andy Carroll, who was injured for 151 games during his career in East London, per Transfermarkt.

Here is what fans had to say about the article:

West Ham fans, would you take the risk and sign Sturridge? Comment below!
