West Ham: Fans react to latest transfer news as Nahitan Nandez linked with move

West Ham United are interested in signing Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez this month, that is according to @ExWHUemployee, speaking on the West Ham Way podcast on Tuesday (January 21st).
David Moyes is short of options in the middle of the park. Declan Rice and Mark Noble have played the majority of games this season, but Jack Wilshere has played just 175 minutes of league football due to injury whilst Carlos Sanchez hasn’t been fancied at all as he has managed just 113 minutes on the pitch (Transfermarkt).
It wouldn’t be a surprise, therefore, to see him dip into the transfer market to bring in another central midfielder and according to @ExWHUemployee, Nandez is one of the names who could be an option.
The 24-year-old has impressed in Serie A for Cagliari this term and has started 16 games, scoring one goal and providing three assists in that time whilst also creating six big chances. Added to that, he is a tenacious operator who on average wins 3.6 ground duels per game, whilst also averaging 1.5 tackles per match (SofaScore).
It seems that quite a few West Ham would be delighted if the club signed the Uruguayan international, who has already won 31 caps despite being just 24 (Transfermarkt). Indeed, many have taken to Twitter to express that he is a player that they like. Here is what some had to say…

Nandez would bring a lot more to WHU than just his play. Dude is gritty and an absolute warrior. I miss him at Boca.
