Things have not been going too well for West Ham recently and it is largely due to goalkeeping crisis at the club.
Manuel Pellegrini’s strugglers have shipped 11 goals in their last five games – six of those coming in their previous two matches against Newcastle and Burnley – with backup goalkeeper Roberto largely at fault for many of those goals.
The Spaniard was brought in over the summer to provide competition for Lukasz Fabianski but has started the Irons’ last five league games due to the Poland international sustaining a hip injury against Bournemouth at the end of September.
West Ham have lost four and drawn one of the five games Roberto has started, with the ‘keeper producing a calamitous performance against Burnley before the international break.
Fans of the club are now calling for the 33-year-old to be dropped for the visit of Tottenham this weekend, though it would appear that his manager, Manuel Pellegrini, will be sticking with him judging by the comments he made in his press conference earlier today.
Here’s how Irons fans reacted to the Chilean’s update on Twitter…
Can we play rush goalie tomorrow? We would be better off 🥴.

Is that so when he flaps again we can all stop the ball crossing the line

We need 6 men behind him, on the line.

I hate to say it as I really want to beat them lot but if he plays we have no chance of winning we will need 3 goals at least to get a draw I pray I’m wrong and he has a blinder but personally I would play Joseph Anang

I can barely be bothered to get up and go to the game to watch this clown play so god knows how the outfield players feel
