Many West Ham fans are reacting to a suggestion made by @EXWHUemployee when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast (Wednesday, March 11th), that manager David Moyes’ does not feel that striker Albian Ajeti is ready to play Premier League football.
The Swiss forward has had a very hard time since he signed from FC Basel last summer for £7.83 million (Transfermarkt). He has made just 11 appearances for the Irons and has failed to score in any of them. He has also not made a senior appearance for the club since he came on as a substitute on the 84th minute against Everton on the 18th January.
With Moyes reportedly not seeing him as Premier League quality, the striker will have to accept time on the bench until the summer, to see whether West Ham are still in the Premier League, or if he can force a loan move somewhere like the Championship. However, he might just want to leave permanently so it will be interesting to see in the summer what exactly happens.
At FC Basel, he scored an impressive 21 goals in 43 appearances last season (Transfermarkt), showing he knows where the net is. But January signing Jarrod Bowen has come in and moved Ajeti further down the pecking order, so opportunities at the London Stadium could now be even more limited.
Here are what West Ham fans are saying about the striker:
It is believed that David Moyes does not think Albian Ajeti is ready to play Premier League football.

More money wasted by a board who have no idea how to run a football club

Him and everyone else.

Needs to be loaned out next season to give him some consistent game time in England championship may be a good place to go

So we will sell him and he’ll go onto score 20+ a season for some other premier league team

Just this years scape goat, he’ll head off to one of the other big leagues this season and do a decent little job. You can’t play someone in a handful of games, mainly as subs in the final minutes then complain they’re not producing the goods.

I believe Moyes isn’t fit to manage a premier league club, oh wait, next season he won’t be 😔⚒
