West Ham fans thank Andy Carroll as his contract comes to an end - Premier League

After a year on loan and six seasons as a West Ham player, Andy Carroll’s time in East London has come to and end.

His contract will be expiring on June 30th and the club have decided they won’t be renewing it, meaning the striker joins Samir Nasri, Adrian and youngsters including Moses Makasi on West Ham’s released list.

West Ham have marked his departure with this video:

As supporters have so often lamented, when Carroll has been on the pitch there have been many a time where he has looked unplayable, though he just hasn’t got there enough to justify his wages.

This season he managed just four starts and nine substitute appearances in all competitions according to WhoScored, getting one solitary goal against Birmingham City in the FA Cup.

Nevertheless, he has given the supporters some great memories, including a hat-trick against Arsenal, his acrobatic effort versus Crystal Palace and a sublime over the shoulder volley against West Bromwich Albion.

The 30-year-old will now be on the lookout for a new club while working to reach full fitness ahead of the next campaign.
