West Ham: Fans unimpressed with Pablo Fornals in win at Chelsea

West Ham claimed their first win in eight Premier League games by beating Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, although it wasn’t enough to spare one of their summer signings some scathing reviews from a number of Hammers supporters.
Midfielder Pablo Fornals, who joined from Villarreal for £24m in June (as per BBC), made his sixth league start of the season today and provided the assist for Aaron Cresswell’s decisive goal.
However, according to WhoScored, the 23-year-old was guilty of no fewer than six moments of poor ball control in the game, more than anyone else on the pitch at Stamford Bridge.
His performance against Chelsea drew a mixed review from Alan Smith of Football London in his player ratings, with Fornals awarded a six after having a “quiet opening period”, although he also “showed a willingness to work hard defensively” and won three tackles as well as making two interceptions.
While there were some positive to the Spaniard’s performance, these West Ham fans on Twitter were still critical of the midfielder:
Fornals must be the worst player I have ever seen.

A lot more organized and solid. Fornals has really done nothing and is wasted out wide cause he is so slow

Pablo Fornals’ cruyff turn back into his own half while the counter attack was on is the worst thing to happen this game. He’s really not convincing me
