West Ham: Fans were fuming over Manuel Lanzini coming on for Robert Snodgrass against Brighton

A number of West Ham fans were fuming at manager David Moyes over a late substitution this afternoon at London Stadium.

Two goals from Robert Snodgrass helped the Hammers into a 3-1 lead against Brighton but, after the Seagulls drew level, the Scotland international was withdrawn for Manuel Lanzini in the 85th minute, as noted by @WestHam on Twitter.

Snodgrass’ double took him to five Premier League goals for the season while he also claimed an assist for Issa Diop’s opening goal today, whereas the Argentina midfielder is still waiting to open his goalscoring account for 2019/20 and came in for heavy criticism from some West Ham fans in midweek after the defeat to Liverpool.

Rob Guest of Football London gave the Scot an eight in his player ratings and said that he produced an “impressive performance”, one which aside from his goal involvements also included two key passes and two successful tackles (as per SofaScore).

These West Ham fans on Twitter voiced their strong disapproval of Moyes’ decision to replace Snodgrass with Lanzini in the closing stages of today’s 3-3 draw at London Stadium:
